Can you imagine living there, pre-industrial heating? Especially if you were a fosterling or treaty bride from a place that had a sensible climate? I've always thought E Castle was rather romantic, but that picture really puts it in perspective!
I adore Edinburgh Castle – it looks so spooky up on that hill, especially at night.
